Commission Sequence For residential scaled projects: As most of my sculptures employ a fabrication technique that can be recreated, the work lends itself to commissions with a great deal of control and dimensional flexibility. The work is created in series, with each successive piece a one of a kind variation. No one piece has ever been reproduced exactly, and each piece is recognizably unique. Typical sequence: a client expresses enthusiastic interest in the work the portfolio of earlier work is reviewed carefully the client usually finds one piece that ‘speaks to them’. the potential site location is discussed. Interior or exterior? Horizontal or vertical? What color or material is desired? Stainless steel - bronze w/ patina. – oxidized steel What dimensions might be desired? Are there any functional concerns? Lighting? Water? Movement? Landscaping? Private or Public setting? Commissions currently range between 25,000 and 185,000, wall pieces 9500-40,000 If the client would like to formally start the process, a 500-750 drawing fee is requested. Client is asked to provide a few images of the site by email. I develop a series of sketch concepts, and photoshop mok ups, to provide some options for further consideration. Once a concept and general composition is decided upon, I develop a final drawing and a written proposal, with total cost, material description, and delivery schedule with terms of payment. 50% deposit to begin 25% progress payment 25% upon completion 12-16 weeks for completion shipping and installation is handled as a separate matter.
